How to help Colorado wildfire victims

While Lift-Up primarily addresses needs in Routt County, other organizations are working to provide assistance to victims of wildfires across Colorado.

The American Red Cross, Salvation Army, and Help Colorado Now are accepting financial donations. In addition, High Point Roofing, located at 2590 Copper Ridge Drive, Unit A, in Steamboat Springs, will be accepting donated goods through July 8. Find a list of suggested items here. Call 970-879-5488 with any questions.

Volunteers are warned not to visit the scene of a disaster for their own safety. The Red Cross is currently recruiting disaster response volunteers in the following areas at this time: Southwest Colorado; San Luis Valley; Dillon; and Boulder, Gilpin, Park, Clear Creek, Adams, and Jefferson counties. For more information, click here.

For the fashion- and design-minded, all profits from the sale of Wild Fire Tees products will go to the Red Cross, Care and Share Food Bank, the Colorado Fire Relief Fund 2012, and immediate local wildfire relief.

All Routt County residents are urged to sign up for Code Red alerts, which Routt County Communications will send to your cell phone, landline, or email address in case of an emergency. Visit the Routt County Communications website at, click on the “Code Red” link, and enter the required information.
